itty bitty recap.

On Saturday Chris and I went to my little sister's very first birthday party. It was her seventh birthday, but because she's autistic (which some of you might have read before here) she's never wanted a party before. This year she asked to have a Hello Kitty/Disney Princess themed party with all her friends from school. I think we had nine of her friends over, each one with their own differences, and it was a total hit! She had a blast and the only meltdowns came when the moms and dads started arriving to pick their kids up, no one wanted the party to be over!

After the party I had to work, and then I worked again last night. But I had today off, and I had made plans with my oldest sister Lauren and my brother-in-law Kyle to have them come out to our house. They hadn't seen our new place yet, and we really wanted to get them out on the boat. We planned snacks (veggies, pineapple and strawberries, hummus and sundried tomatoes on crackers!), drinks (lots of beer and Malibu Rum and pineapple juice!), and fishing. We got a little bit of a late start, but it went so well! We stopped for lunch and Chris got a lobster burger, which was pretty damn awesome. When we got back on the boat it started to drizzle a little bit, but that made for better fishing weather. We forgot to get bait at first so the boys tried using the food we had on the boat, my leftover chicken quesadillas from lunch and carrots, which totally didn't work! We stopped at a bait shop and tried again, with a little bit of success... and by little I mean we caught two of the tiniest fish ever!

We had tons of fun, though, and I can't wait for them to come out and visit again! It's always nice to reconnect with my sister, even though they only live forty minutes away or so we're both so busy that we don't get to see each other often.
My sister took more photos than I did, so I'll see if I can snag them from her. There's a cute one of the two of us together I'd love to show you guys!
